这就是理解这句话的重点。先来看双尾，即图中蓝色区域，既然面积总和为α，那一条尾巴的面积就是α/2，我们来画一条线。这条线与横轴的交点即为双尾临界值点。我们再来看单尾，以拒绝域在左边尾巴上举例，因为是单尾所切的尾巴的面积就是α，所以单尾的面积肯定会比双尾的α/2要大，即图上红色所示，这条红线与横轴的交点即为单尾临界值点。这样一画图就不难得到单尾检验的拒绝点即临界值点的绝对值会比双尾检验更小这样的结论啦。
