A balloon payment is a larger-than-usual one-time payment at the end of the loan term. If you have a mortgage with a balloon payment, your payments may be lower in the years before the balloon payment comes due, but you could owe a big amount at the end of the loan. 

意思就是说，在这个合约到期之前，所需要付的利息，很少，但当合同到期的时候，你需要交还你原来买这个东西（比如说房子的本金+利息），这种balloon payment，不像咱们一般房贷，房子的价值会摊销到每个月。
