机构IPS的objective问题

“是不是这两个objective是一个意思？”

是有一些小区别，但可以理解成是一个意思。

Main objective可以理解成基金的使命，是更General的描述，比方说，Endowment的Main objective是：The main objective is to provide intergenerational equity；或者可以描述：The mission is to maintain the purchasing power of the assets into perpetuity；

这感觉上是更宏观的描述；

而对于：Investment objective，可以理解成：具体到投资层面，如果我们要实现基金的使命，那投资层面要实现啥？

例如，对于Endowment，要实现Provide intergenerational equity的使命，那投资层面的目标是：Maintain the purchasing power into perpetuity、具体就是要实现：Spending rate + Inflation + Expense

所以两个描述的差不多是一回事，Investment objective，只是把Main objective具体到投资收益层面的表述，考试的时候，Main objective一般题目会直接给，例如，题目会告诉我们：Maintain the purchasing power into perpetuity，Support the Uninvestity in perpetuity等。

具体都收益层面，题目不一定会给具体数据，如果给了具体数据，例如，给了Spending rate + Inflation + Expense，也要算一下Objective是多少。

这样，结合起来写Investment objective就是：Maintain the purchasing power into perpetuity，achieve a total real rate of return (after inflation) of X% with an expected volatility of Y% over the long term (K years).
